I can't think of an AI-enabled IDE project that's not a fork of VSCode - There is only Zed, though I don't know if we can compare it to Antigravity or Cursor. I am not sure if they have to explicitly say it's VSCode - do

That Generative UI in Search is amazing, but mocked message from his wife telling him not to use her in demos was cringeworthy.

Nobody who wanted to erase a tree or fix their smile paid for Photoshop anyway. and Photoshop does a a lor more than pixel manipulation. So, a moot point.

Agreed - also things have changed a lot since 2019. Having said that, even people who ship and are rewarded for it do work on stuff that has very little impact on the bottom line. Except ads.

They don't care. Only 5% of their people contribute to the bottom line. Rest are all deadweight.

They are not replacing anybody with AI. Meta has been a bloated hell hole for a very long time now (maybe 10+ years). Nothing, literally nothing beyond Ads and AdTech makes a dent in their earnings. The complaints here - it's not only

Impossible without a human in the loop. Having said that - even categorisation of destructive and non destructive calls is inherently not safe, unless you have very strict os level / VM like setup (everything read only, world access is

Yep - It's nearly impossible to assign profit to those things - we have X revenue from Android licenses, what's the cost of an android license? Is it all the R&D that goes to UI or hardware research? What's the cost of a

What? - I live in London, if you walk through a high street where there is both a secondary school and a corner store (if you say you don't know what that is, I will assume you are Trump) at around 3-4pm - you either get asked to buy c

Maybe - humans have agency, they understand actions / consequences. AI agents do not have agency(!), they have no understanding of consequences. They actually have no understanding. At all.

Sorry - still author's fault. They didn't understand how LLM's work. They thought Cursor implemented some magic "I control every action LLM takes" thing. It's impossible.

Just like you can't get around a random adult buying for kids. It's just a imperfect deterrent. Although I agree- hardware level control would be so much better. Apple's on-device age checks can be a good compromise.

True - although let's call it what it is now: it's a flop. They are going to wind Oculus down or sell it- it's going to happen before 2030.
