People know how to use the App Store. If they want Spotify they know how to find it. It is by no means unfair, immoral, or unethical for a company to prefer and promote their own products. On a personal note, I never in my life want to see

I'm pretty sure you're asked whether or not you want to enable Location Services when going through Setup Assistant during the initial device provisioning.

> What if I want Android because SyncThing works better on it than on iOS? Then I can't have iMessage? Correct. iMessage is an Apple service. If you want to make use of Apple services you should probably use Apple products. \_O_

Looks good, though a bit two dimensional. Is it possible to use displacement or normal mapping versus bump mapping in a browser?

I do this in nvim. After making a visual selection I hold alt/option/meta and use j+k to move it up and down as a block. It's been helpful a few times when reorganizing things as I write them.

The RICOH GRIII/GRIIIx is still alive and kickin'. Really nice sensor, super sharp lens, and small enough to fit into a pocket. I don't really use my iPhone camera anymore.

If it hasn't been taken/made/captured yet, it isn't a picture. It's just the potential for one.

Something like... .line-number { user-select: none; -moz-user-select: none; -webkit-user-select: none; } ...should be sufficient to prevent that bit from being selected without JS.

Genuinely curious, since almost all (all?) of your submissions to HN seem to involve the climate in some way: what do you do for a living? What causes you to gravitate towards these types of articles and discussions?

Tachyons __is__ fun! I have found it to be better for rapid prototyping than Tailwind. The class names are more intuitive as they seem to line up somewhat with Emmet text-expansion triggers, and it's much faster to throw the single <

I do web development on an iPad Pro, using Blink.sh and a remote server. Not a bad experience, really. Works better with an external monitor hooked up for live-reloading, and not having a real, proper web inspector is a drawback, but it wor

I think the real issue is that until recently 'they' was considered a plural pronoun, whereas the gender revolutionaries want it to now be considered a singular pronoun.
