Unlike most people I know, I am able to swallow a pill without water. Like everyone I know, I just take one or two pills at a time when I have a headache or whatever according to package directions.

No you didn't, front running is a specific form of insider trading and you used the term correctly :)

Occasionally it is really useful to be able to do something like `new T()`. Without reified generics that is not possible.

What is the purpose of life insurance or you have no kids (or dependent parents/spouse I suppose)? I guess to pay for your funeral costs if cashing out all your savings and possessions wouldn't cover that?

If that’s your thesis, $200/mo has a lot of room for price increases before you start reaching Jr dev salary/mo.

Haha I think you have the history backwards here. Tmux was created as a replacement for screen when it was 20 years old! Speaking as someone with ‘set -g prefix c-a’ in their .tmux.conf because my muscle memory is so used to the screen hotk

Once it makes it to the long haul links. Measure starting at your cell phone and packet loss is much higher than 0.025% and that's where QUIC shines.

I don't disagree with most of what you're saying either, but I don't see it's relevance to what GP is claiming. Was society more fair than it is now for the last few millennia of higher birth rates?

Right, I'm not saying anyone should actually be in the office 40 hours a week that sounds terrible. And even with all the RTO of the last couple years that doesn't seem to be expected many places.

Macro level poorer people have more children than middle class and up people. In the "educated west" (and elsewhere in the world as well I think).

Even a lemonade stand where do you think they get their lemons? Their water pitcher? Their cups? Their freezer for making ice cubes? Most likely outside the US or from bigger US companies with supply chains reaching outside the US.

My toilet (Kohler, in the US) has a battery that's supposed to last 100 flushes if the power goes out. When we first got it I always found it funny to ask other people if their toilet had a battery backup.
