I am taking a discrete math course as a non-degree student and just found this text today. We are using Rosen's book in class, but I must say that this free text does a much better job of giving you the intuition behind what you are doing.

Put together a simple lead gen page and run some adwords to capture emails from interested people. Then start talking to those people who sign up. You can do this by sending out surveys or asking for permission to call them up directly.

I actually saw staying in my current position as the riskier option. Sometimes staying put is the riskiest thing you can do. I am about 3 months into my studies. I started with the MIT Intro to Programming with Python course, Stanford's

I was in a similar situation as you and decided to leave my banking job of 5 years to study computer science full time. Now I am so glad I did. You might be able to hack something together in your spare time, but unless you really underst

Last month I quit my banking job of 5 years to focus full-time on learning computer science. I went from skilled professional to absolute beginner. Way out of my element, but I am growing and building and having a ton of fun.
