Everyone will be hit hard by climate change. I do t see why it should be less in eg the Americas - where you already have pretty volatile climate events

We are so cooked. We spend more time trying to suss out if something was written by AI than actually reading the article. So many legitimate ways of writing are now “ai” style. I used to use emdash a lot, but now I deliberately avoid it be

I link to a lot of stuff on my personal website and every month i check the links. About a dozen or so are dead every month, many on YouTube too. I now adopted the practice of recovering the texts I deem worthy from way back machine and do

It does make sense if the vuln doesn’t fit in your threat model. There are always an uncountable number of vulnerabilities and you can never fix all that are found. No idea of course if the threat model that said boss had in mind made sense

Looking at what happened in Iran and how unpredictable the US is recently it would almost be stupid to not be scared.

Idk the actions the US takes in the Caribbean are the threat and Reuters is reporting on those actions? It would be weirder imo if they didn’t write about it and afaict they are just looking at publicly available OS data.

I love that and it does make sense to me, thanks for sharing. Dogma is what you follow blindly and don’t question, whereas ideology while still rigid you can examine and shape according to your own personal values.

Definitely. In a way ideology is what shapes our reality so you can never be fully free of it. It’s like saying “I’m not political”, it’s also a political statement/stance. Personally I came up with my own flavour of practical Taoism a

I hope you succeed. But I think it’s all down to luck; of course some work is required but I don’t think that hard work necessarily matters. Or any of the stuff you mentioned. In my experience you can do all the “mistakes” you mentioned and

It’s the same language used when taking about “car accidents” They aren’t accidents, it’s an inherent part of how we designed cars and roads and we decided as society that we are ok with thousands of people killed by cars.

It is just as obviously late stage capitalism - as everyone is busy working 10-12 hours just to survive you have zero time left for costly and hard in-person interactions.
