Iain Banks, for me, was the individual responsible for introducing me to seriously good Scotch. ^_^ It was East(er)con '90, at the Adelphi Hotel - a rather wonderful example of architecture, designed by someone with a passion for steps

Agreed on the issue of 1TB. It's curious to see how many people remain concerned they might inadvertently hit that ceiling. Myself, I'll likely remain primarily on Flickr, simply for the community aspect - that's something which seems to re

If you're a Pro user, and thus without any storage limit, it seems they don't show you any usage information. If you're on one of the new accounts, you apparently do see a usage meter of some kind.

Universal = "native" iPad support, in addition to iPhone, in the same application; rather than the iPad performing the usual pixel doubling of a UI designed for an iPhone. A moot point, for me, without iOS 5 support, unfortunately. In any e

Any plans for making it: (a) Universal (b) only require iOS 5? My humble iPad 1 would love to give it a home.

If you use OS X, I can recommend Vienna, which has no problem at all with pulling and keeping as many feeds and articles as you want, up to as many as your filing system can cope with. It's mature, having been around for a few years now, an

A minor note on the form's validation: if you enter a phone number with a space separating the code and number, it'll be rejected, but with no indication as to what failed, or why. (Not that UpCloud is alone in being flummoxed by spaces in

If I have to fire up a Windows 7 VM to play Elite: Dangerous, I will, but certainly, I'd be even happier with a native version. The project's funding trend has nosed upwards lately, despite Christmas, so perhaps word will circulate regardin

I can't really recommend the UI design, but it does work well. In particular, its implementation of filtering (and here we hit the reason Twitter would hardly mourn the end of third party clients) is simple and complete, permitting me to be

If you're selling physical goods, then the answer is as soon as your devices are imported into the US. I once worked for a very small UK company which ran into a patent tussle with a rather larger US competitor, as the former didn't want to

I'd be highly surprised if Apple took such a step - such an acquisition, or major investment, wouldn't bring Apple any greater profit, in exchange for billions. Given Apple's tendency to make any purchases as small as possible, I suspect we

I'd say that's a good possibility, for now. Consider when Apple rolled out 1080p downloads - the filesizes were only slightly larger than for the previous 720p versions, representing quite an efficiency boost. Adopting H.265 would seem to b

"Traditional advertising methods (e.g. AdWords) typically don't work cause app prices are too low." Have you gauged the efficacy of advertising on directly applicable sites, such as (for games) TouchArcade? I can easily see the low unit pri
