I apologize on his behalf. You should know that the majority of the community here isn't trollish like that.

I feel bad for them too, but it's important to remember that if they don't work for the customer , then they're not a viable business. No sympathy necessary.

Your scheme can be a few more random bits, selecting from a finite number of "schemes".

Sure it can! Instead of threads, you use processes. Instead of shared state, you use message passing.

You seem to imply that it was inevitable. The big blue and white gorilla in the room begs to differ. It certainly positions G+ slightly differently than FB, but whether this is actually a competitive advantage is still to be seen.

Speaking as the parent of two teenagers, I can safely say -- no, I don't think so :) Teenagers are a whole different category of angsty indecision.

It happens all the time. The most prominent case was/is American Express mining spending patterns to characterize users into various categories. Here's a slightly dated NYT article on the issue: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/31/your-money

All are much improved. Flash is now 64-bit stable, Banshee is decent for music, and I had plug and play with my dual screens on an nvidia gtx 550 with dvi and hdmi. The current crop of default apps is decent, albeit not perfect.
