Turn those phones/PDAs on and we'll see how "similar" to iPhone they were. I just can't believe how some OpenSource-loving people could go soooo much astray and become total jerks who twist the facts just to prove their point.

It took me 5 minutes to "devise" a title for this submission... I hope it's not very vague, but it was the best I could do. It's hard to describe what this amazing module does in 70 characters!

That's true. And I agree with you 100%. I want the patent system to be changed just as much as others, but I find it extremely hard to sympathize with Samsung, or not be glad about the verdict in this specific case .

Well, I enjoy using my Apple gears tremendously and they enable to do a lot of things that I wouldn't be able to do otherwise. I'd rather pay a $400 premium on a MacBook and have peace of mind for two years. People pay 100 times more for ca

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but I disagree. I find Apple's strategy more solid and sustainable than their competitors'. BTW, I just wanted to say you have a GitHub link on your HN profile that leads to a 404. I thought maybe

Jeff Han demoed it in late 2006, merely months before iPhone introduction. Apple started working on iPhone (and multitouch screens) in the early 00s and (I'm recalling from memory) they filed their multitouch patent in 2004 or 2005.

Yeah, we need ubergeeks like Stallman deciding this case (I'm sure it's not necessary, but: </sarcasm>). No tech-savvy geek is unbiased. We both know it. If I were sitting on that jury, I'd be one hell of a biased juror who'd shout

I bet $50 the old iCal, Address Book and Front Row are not compatible with new security restrictions introduced in ML, so again you should be happy Apple has blacklisted them. That doesn't mean that I like the current state of these apps an
