I'm sure there was no doubling of prices, especially overnight. If prices doubled so should GDP, right?

Good, but the main issue in Poland is the usage of cheap coal for individual heating. During winter there are multiple days when you see smog and it's unhealthy to breath outside.

> How can you justify needing layoffs when you made $24B in net income Cut costs and make 25B next quarter! Cut more in US and hire in India. Make 27B in a quarter next year!

Why to bother with H1B workers if they are hiring directly in India?

I'd argue nothing happens if everyone go on strike. It's not an assembly line. No release? Great. Noone to attend meetings? Not a big deal! Cannot get a real person for support? Same as without strike!

No, by paying high salary you are not going to retain smart people on dumb physically challenging job. And they say they can get employees, as pay is decent for low skilled job.

Use of coal in Chinese energy production is not growing, peaked in 2013 according to their stats. They are also building massive solar and nuclear capacity. But anyway, half of all global coal production is consumed in China. I hope they wi

That could be genuine words. Mission is to be expendable and make them rich. Don't forget about the mission during next round of layoffs and record high quarterly profits.

Today residential use amounts of 15% energy used in USA, and 40% of electricity use. In Florida, HVAC accounts to 40% of energy bill of the household. 40% of 15% is not that much, even if everyone is using AC.

That is just an act of corpo-ceo bulshitting employees and press about high moral standards, mission, etc. Don't trust any of his words.

First time I hear someone is freezing fresh fish at home. Everyone I know tries to eat fresh never-frozen fish. I thought the main barier is to apply intense heat to the fish, not to freeze it.

Energy used in private AC is very small fraction of total bill and has no meaningful effect on the climate. Compare with data centers running entirely off grid, powered by tens of massive gas generators.

But you compare different cars. If you compare the same high performance vehicles (but not luxury) where there are both options - then manual often is the same or cheaper.

What do you mean by more value? In Europe manual is cheaper than automatic. In USA there are only high-performance vehicles offered with manual. However even then Elantra N is cheaper with manual.

But you should compare the same cars. I bet 13k was for a basic trim, with manual, less powerful engine etc. Car of 2025 has lots of features even in basic trims. My first car had no ac, no power steering, no power window, etc. And I'm

Looks like you are talking about stock options, not stocks. If you receive a stock as compensation - it is an income. If you sell them years later with profit - it is additional extra income.

Is it right? From my knowledge stock compensation is considered as income and is taxed. But I got your point. There are ways to be wealthy, have a rich lifestyle but report no taxable income/profit. What you actually want is to have a

That's right. Look at Trump and his friends. Also you have no means to change the law. But ultra rich people can push/promote "correct" people to the government or to be elected. Like Musk did.

There is actually no sense to put high taxes on ultra wealthy people. They have all means to avoid payment of income/profit taxes at all, no matter of the current tax rate. That's why poor people pay the highest percentage of thei
