I wonder how much software is in this system? Obviously not much, after looking at HN over the last many years: -Ransomware attack - pay or we turn off your heart pump! -The system will now shut down, ok? Over a whole year of operation seem

I've known some pretty healthy and active 90 year olds that could benefit. The problem might be, that if the young heart pumps to strongly, thin or weak blood vessels might start too leak under the higher pressure of a young heart. Th

What's wrong with bread and lard? For many old timers it was and still is a treat. Have you ever tried it? It's good! Many of those old timers lived over a hundred years!

Thanks for that link. The original site seems to be no longer valid. I wonder if there is a copy of the operating site somewhere, with all that hard work resulting in some great software lists, reviews and summaries.

For those who don't know, Gizmos freeware, via techsupportalert was a software test and review site, running for about(at least?) 10 years. Volunteers tested and compared hundreds of programs, on the major three platforms; Mac, Window

Canada had a slightly higher cost of living than US. But we are a very very big country with low population density, so logistics are expensive. Health care costs about 50/month if you have income. Simple. Cost never enters into medica

I think it's valid. Photo was posted on an internet platform. A few people reading HN work with the internet. Who knows who becomes liable for strange legal actions like this one. It informs and then we get to discuss, about the possib

Giordie LaForge concept. Not true vision but electronic flashes. Interesting if the cameras could transmit on a broader range of the spectrum than humans normally see. Also, could our brains process that - although can't see why not. N

I remember using weather fax on the Pacific Ocean. Far away from shore, using a short wave radio, you could receive weather forecasts and even weather maps, black and white. There were thermal paper printers connected to the radio, and voil

This is a hilarious thing to find on HN. But then again, how many years have we been hacking, the wiener to bun ratio problem!

That atom powered Eeebox was great. It worked in bright sunlight, super portable and light. I used it as a field mapping unit, with a GPS plugged into it, and off line maps. When in WiFi space I could download maps etc. ( I used Ozzie Explo

A great place to find old CB gear is at swap places, garage sale type stores. (Obviously on line now too.) There used to be many designs of home "base stations", otherwise you would need to adapt an in car model. Continue with fre

Very rare. Rentals are 99% bare bones. Apartment hotels are also very rare. Usually available on the low end of desirability. Usually run down and so on.

This is what happened with pollution. Leaks were common. But it cost to fix. Then regulations came in to fine any leakage. It works, but is always the lowest priority for any company. Because it's a profit drain not profit growth.

This is cool. We finally have verification. The Venturi doesn't suck the gasoline into the engine. Gravity feed (or fuel pump) pushes the fuel into the throttle body. Venturi causes the flow to must and properly mix. Which should be ob
