On viewing the video your description is a little generous. He did hear it and put his hand out, but it would have fallen without help. Not really like the cane echo distancing.

Google doesn't sell searches, it sells advertising. They do much of that sales process for UK advertisers (effectively all of it according to one whistle-blower) in the UK, and 'close' them (and declare them) in Ireland. Nobody is suggestin

The raspberry pi is absolutely not the cool thing about this set up[1]. The cool thing is that in 12 months you can switch out your SOC for a better one. 1. The pi is good because it has a large community and GPIO pins, it's a terrible choi

I have the 'lapdock' used here; with a phone (the original use case) IIRC it was quoted for 9 hours.. and that must have included powering the phone too, because it would keep the phone battery full. So, possible, i think.

Not really a great feature of opera mobile 14.. the last version was available for android 2.1+, and Firefox mobile (IMO the best mobile browser) is available for 2.2+. Sucks for my nook stuck on 2.1, no more updated browser. (I do understa

I find urban China absolutely fascinating, a feeling of relentless unbounded growth and development like London in the mid 1800s or New York in the 19?0s. To think how quickly these mega cities pop up out of nothing.. I have a feeling we wi

Watermarks are often removed, via cropping or photoshop. The only solid option of protecting your work is to add it to a copyright registry, which isn't likely to be free.

I don't see why people think google are going to struggle to get this out for $200. It is essentially galaxy nexus hardware without cell phone modem, a much smaller battery, and a small LCOS display instead of the large 720p AMOLED one. Yes

I absolutely agree, it got much more interesting as I started fleshing out my thought process. As for the motives, for a simulation to be helpful, it would have to run at greater than real time, no? Which.. is surely impossible, at least fo

If we are to say it is a perfect or near perfect simulation ('copy') then I don't see how, as stated in my first post. It's interesting to consider if we were a different simulation. But it would still have the same limits (that the sum of

What I would like to discuss is what purpose would simulating a universe have for the advanced civilisation? As the civilisation becomes closer to being capable of creating a perfectly simulated universe, they get less benefit from having o
