It’s amazing how much the industry leaders just copy each other. Google didn’t throw the towel in until Amazon did first.

I wondered what kind of impact a minimum labor law on a specific industry would cause, and this is one example. Instead of first party delivery, Pizza Huts in CA will rely on 3rd party delivery (Uber Eats, Door Dash) to deliver their pizzas

From what I’ve seen happen in Long Beach, these high density housing developments are rarely affordable. Most new developments cater to the higher end of the market. Long Beach became much more unaffordable after the density increased.

Funny how Huntington Beach is usually the poster child for NIMBY housing politics in California, but HB actually has quite a few high density apartment buildings. Surprised to hear Santa Cruz has none.

Looks very cool. Does this produce a shell snippet with the appropriate git commands? I like the idea of this being a very thin frontend to git.

I look forward to the day when that problem is solved by a company that doesn’t mine my data to sell ads.

Maybe we need to start talking about acceleration laws? How is a giant truck accelerating to 60mph in <3 seconds safe?

Isn’t the reason that people get ill from those foods is primarily due to excess calories causing obesity and inflation? Wouldn’t the same thing happen with other foods just as cheap and calorie dense?

For thousands of years, human language has evolved and changed into what we have today. Now our AI overlords will keep our language static using a paid service. Imagine the new languages and dialects that could have been. Damn you Grammarly

Isn’t the term “broadband” supposed to reference using the full capacity of the wire medium? Like DSL was broadband because voice lines only used a narrow band of the frequency range of the wire?

We’ve seen something similar here with co-op schools. Not done in the home, but the teaching is handled by parents of the students. They are very happy with their school.
