Isn't government debt extremely cheap compared to 20/30 years ago? Should we not look at how much interest we are paying compared to GDP for a better outlook?

That does not seem right unless there is something more hidden going on: 1) I issue on order and close a trade (using a broker as intermediary) 2) i have already provided the liquidity to settle that trade which is already in the broker

Yes, I never used any of those but it looks like they followed suit on the RH success and implemented something similar. I had an Interactive Brokers account for years and there the distinction is very clear. A cash account just can't

My understanding is that it does. One example (there's more like the instant deposit): when you buy a stock with money from another sale not yet settled, you are basically using margin (a loan) and thus RH have cash requirements which

They are diverting the attention from their core problem: lack of transparency. I had a RH account for years and I didn't know it was a margin account (be sure: I did not signup for their "margin" service). All RH account are

This sounds very weak. It's like saying "Ideas that makes sense to the lower class don't always make sense to the top 1% net-worth people. For example taxing the rich more. For the top 1% net-worth individuals, _everyone_ mee

Hmm.. I struggle to understand your logic. Embedded in the concept of Democracy is the fact that there is a rule by which a decision is made and once taken it impacts everyone lives. Just try to look from the other side of the fence. I can

Wait... I think I misread when I first answered: "Some states have tied their electoral votes to the national popular vote in the name of increases democracy." Is this a thing? I had no idea. Do you know what states do that ?

Yes, I am aware of how it works and indeed it would be interesting to see a change in the election laws. For all practical purposes though, people vote directly for the president (last election is the proof that even a full front effort won

I never went as far as saying the the USA is not a democracy but you did. Goes far behind my point, but that was the direction. Saying that the president is not a president of the people when people literally vote directly for that person (

You might want to look at the electoral vote and how 1 vote in Wyoming accounts as much as roughly 4 votes in Texas and California. Pretty serious bug that is enabling the far right to be over represented imo.

Apple is pretty smart when adding features most of the time. Maybe they just add strips of magnets to a usb-c so you can still use the port with a normal usb-c cable and still benefit of magsafe with the proprietary adapter. Anyway, I did e

While I agree with the author's arguments, I feel he is totally missing the point. We are not going to fix society in time to stop this pandemic. Problems that will not be solved: - our politicians will not become competent. Our select

I don't perceive Google as a ethical company and this has been explicit to me for years now. That said that's not really a problem or uncommon. Why would companies want to be ethical? The only worry is what affects their bottom li

Deduplication solves that problem. There is only one (or very few) instance(s) of that gif on Google servers. That's why encryption will not be available anytime soon. Storage requirement would explode.
