Let's Encrypt is currently sponsored by 53 different corporations and organizations, including Google, Facebook and Cisco. I'm not seeing it disappearing anytime soon.

There's surprisingly little information about it. All I can find is that it was originally build in 1950 and was renovated in 2008, and it used to use relays, which were broken for some time. http://www.aok.dk/byliv

That is not correct, it just runs in compatibility mode by default, see https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/patricka/2015/01/12/control...

Huh? They have had the WebBrowser ActiveX control since IE3 I think. That works as headless as you get on Windows.

In the H.C. Andersen fairy tale "The Princess and the Pea", the princess sleeps on 20 mattresses and 20 eiderdown duvets[1]. [1]: It seems to be translated into eider-down beds, that seems to be another meaning of "bed"

Slashdot started in 1997, the first release of mod_perl was on 12.03.1998. They certainly used cgi at first, just check the url here: https://web.archive.org/web/19980113191337/http://slashdot.o... - it

Classic CGI is not the best performing interface, yes. But there's a big difference in launching a complete interpreter for every request, and running a small purpose-built native program. And remember that people did manage the former

There needs to be an element of creativity for a work to be copyrightable in the US. If it's just the same sound as you would hear from going to a beach on any windy day then it may be hard to argue that there is any creativity to it.

It's also quite special as it needs raw socket access (doesn't it work in connect() mode though?), it is on the backlog though as I understand. Other things that won't work are fuse and VPN's and loading arbitrary kernel

You can link to anything with a C ABI just by declaring the functions external[0], there's also tools for automating conversion from C header file declarations[1]. [0]: https://www.freepascal.org/docs-html/prog

Have you seen CakeML[0]? It is verified that the semantics of the x86 machine code it outputs in the end are the same as the SML code it takes as input, up to out-of-memory errors. [0]: https://cakeml.org/

Is it even faster? There is no particular reason why asm.js should be slower besides the initial parsing time.

Well, the argument is that for any natural number n we can make an n-gon. So we have a one-to-one correspondence between natural numbers and dimension 2 polytypes, so by definition the cardinality of that set is aleph zero

From context all the numbers are cardinal numbers since we are talking about the size of a set (i.e. the set of different regular polytypes in each dimension). Also from context the infinity here must be countable, so indeed it must be the

Microsoft didn't write it, it is licensed from Design Science (it is just a light weight version of MathType), so it is likely they never had the source code.

This is also a misconception, it is just a bytecode. asm.js is already running at around 50% native speed so there is no massive performance wins to find. What you get with WebAssembly is reduced startup time because it doesn't have to
