What is your opinion on a diet of fast food daily versus something like Muesli? Seems like some folks have really poor diets by choice, and this couldn't be that much worse. Could it?

I think the consumer frustration stems from the desire to buy once, then use it for 10+ years. I'm driving a 17yr old vehicle with 350k+ miles, and just keep taking it in for quarterly tune ups and it runs great. Sure I would love an a

Ah, I'm not sure I understand your last point. What about selling a "new high priced" item to the government because the engineering team spent some cycles fixing up the known vulnerabilities and re-released the product with

We have a couple different phone numbers exclusively for advertising campaigns. We can note the line it came on when receiving the call. We're a small-mid business, so I assume larger businesses have budgets for a lot more ways to trac

"Feel free to make a PR." This makes me cringe. Sure, encourage us to make a PR to implement a tri-state radio button if it doesn't exist. Don't encourage us to make a pull request to reduce a 10 second documentation pag

I'm in my mid 30's. There are a few hikes that I do repeatedly. One to a peak, one to a riverbed. I've done them dozens of time. Sitting by the rushing water, no cars, no people, no industrial sounds, trees everywhere. Rejuve

Obviously, I'd like to maintain my body and will. When I was in Maryland for a year, my landlady was 104 years old, and quite sharp. Her daughter was 80 and crazy spry. Every day my landlady would be out on the porch, cleaning and orga

The items were not listed in order. I've had a couple spins of playing WoW and DotA, and often times the reason I quit are because there are so many other things I want to do. I work full time, I have a rental property, I have a small

At first I thought the article was going to explain why it isn't worth pursuing agelessness, but I'm impressed at how well it wrapped everything up. Great article, thanks.

Hah, yea, good point. Honestly though, I live in northern California, and I have climbed a good handful of the 10k peaks around here, but there are just so many more I have not had the time to visit. So many parts of the Pacific Crest Trail

I sometimes talk about wanting to live forever and get weird stares. Are you joking me?? I want to hike every trail in the world. I want to climb every mountain. I want to play every video game. I want to beat the hardest raids in every exp

The laws of physics say we can't accelerate through the speed of light, but it doesn't say we can't travel faster than light, nor does it say time travel is impossible. Particles traveling faster than light can travel back in

I also find it faster when a coworker requests I shift an image down, to add style="position:relative;top:10px;" to adjust an image or div down a few pixels, than to find the style sheet (one of dozens nestled in various locations

I think the ability to copy/paste a URL to show exactly the state I'm looking at (I.E. #dropdown to see the dropdown.) Is great! But, after I scroll through a dozen, I want to hit back to go back to HN.

Agreed, when I hit back once or twice I was like crap. (I had just scrolled through every one.) So I just opened a new tab to HN, and closed that tab. Poor tab.

I suspect even if it were a compiled Java binary with lost source code, this could still be solved with one line of code. Sigh.

I had already bookmarked this post because I love the idea. But your response is incredibly thought provoking. I love the idea of moving to Alaska or Canada in the wilderness, and figuring out how to survive and stay connected. I'm thi
