Most Internet traffic happens with the agreement that you watch ads alongside the content you actually want to see. This is not a fringe position, it's the absolute majority of all traffic. If you don't want to see the ads, you ca

Aren't ads in YouTube locked down to displaying a video and some plain text you fill into a template. Doesn't sound like a great attack vector. I understand this for shady file sharing sites, but in the case of yt I'm not so

Yep I agree, the ad supported Internet was a mistake and we should never have stopped paying for the services we use. I just hope that these changes will increase people's willingness to pay, then other platforms who aren't owned

Harnessing the power of AI with Windows copilot is amazing. None of the example tasks it ships with work. They just scrape the docs and give you a summary how to turn on dark mode for example. I suspect its because copilot isn't even s

Not really a KDE thing but having multiple screens with differing refresh rates is a pain on all distros I've tested. Either you add a lot of buffering to avoid screen tearing, or you get screen tearing.

You could means test repayment. That's how it's done here in Germany, only once I earn a good deal I'll have to pay back a small percentage each month. If I never get a steady income I just won't have to repay it if I un

Wouldn't a person dying 40 years early have a tenfold impact on the average compared to someone dying 4 years early. Early being compared to the expectancy calculated without them.

My bet is on Google doesn't give a shit. The pixel 4a is a second tier device with constant ui crashes, glitches and design obviously not made for it.

It's not the greens that fucked it up. They had a plan in the 90s which was supposed to transition to a renewable grid. Conservatives ruined it and had been in power for the past 16 years. The current rushed nuclear exit is solely thei
