Why not SLES?

OpenSuse LEAP is 100% binary compatible with SLES. You can build an entire dev environment with LEAP, clone it and run a script to make it SLES. Ubuntu is pushing snaps to hard IMHO. Suse is moving towards immutable OS with flatpacks, but d

This is what happens when every traffic stop is billed as a combat situation. Cops feel like their dangerous (and they are) because America can't pass sensible gun restrictions.

Not only that, but it can only be managed from another apple device. If your kid has an ipad and you don't have an iphone, ipad, or mac; you can't use the child accounts.

My child's school forces us to create accounts the way you describe. Since kids all get ipads they need icloud accounts, but the school does not participate in the program that lets them create icloud accounts for kids. You as a parent

100% this. I've been remote since covid. First job was transitioned and I mentored and onboarded people. It was alot of screen sharing, and messaging back and forth. This was no different (but better) then onsite where they would cram

You've just modified your previous statement. I absolutely believe someone might have a child to get child support or even qualify for benefits. I don't believe anyone is popping out multiple kids to rake in extra benefits. There

The 100% truth is that you had no idea of any of the detail about whatever you saw. Unless someone has a massive trust with a procreation requirement, there is no free ride for children in America.

It's just a silly scenario. Nobody gets more in assistance then it costs to raise a child. People might scam the system because they can't afford the kids they have, but nobody is having more kids just to scam the system.

Thanks, the popping out babies is such a garbage take. It's not designed to argue in good faith, it's just a moron talking point.

Sure, now do the tax credits to parents and the pandemic EBT. These are what we're talking about. PPP was a giveaway to moneyed interests because god forbid we pay it directly to workers.

Interestingly, I have a Dell lattitude 5440 that has a dock, and I have the dock. I'd love to use it as a server, but 2 out of 3 of the USB ports are damaged. They seem to share a bus with the camera, so it doesn't work, and the d

Yeah, I worked for a large employer who complained about this happening when people were onsite all day. Different people interviewed and showed up for work. This is nothing new, it's just a media blitz by status quo lovers.

I did 6 weeks of interviews last year and landed multiple good offers. 2 from recruiters and 4 direct hire at companies I applied to blindly. I'm still getting offers to interview daily. I've helped people land jobs, but all of mi

Wait... I keep hearing that Medicaid/Medicare don't pay enough, now they are paying for all the overage stuff? Anyway, those quotes were for the internal management of the company, not the overhead at offices or hospitals.

It's a marathon. When you don't enjoy it, start a new one. There will always be bureaucracy, just deal with it and disconnect at the end of the day so you can do the things you love with the people you love.

I have 2 daughters at a public US university. There is tons of pedestrian traffic, and plenty of busses. Some students have cars, but parking is very limited. My daughters walk everywhere, or get a bus. Some kids use bikes or scooters.
