I did catch that... but.... I am sure that there's a whole number of investments that aren't brand-name that take place. But, then it made me wonder about the con-jobbiness of it all. Targeting unsophisticated investors, seems lik

The lack of accountability and governance by investors is fascinating and confusing to me. If I was investing meaningful portions of my savings, I would read every single document and maintain careful diligence on how the firm & executi

That's also a great point. The 70s have a lot of divergence vs the prior 20 years, but what if we run the clock back to, say, 1875? (I don't know. But it has to be asked)

YouTube Music is so bad I shut down my use of Google for music, unplugged my Google home devices, and migrated to Alexa. Amazon Music is worse than Google Music, but better than YouTube Music. There's a wide open market for a good mus

AU has slightly different framing and expectations. I've had a few conversations with people from AU, or who spent significant time there. It is different there in certain base assumptions about the role of government. I don't w

Watching the divergent responses by governors & states who, more generally, trust scientific experts (E.g., Hogan in Maryland, Inslee in WA), vs governors who don't... I'm glad I live in WA. If I lived in one of those other st

It's also the case that, in practice , we regulate and politicize much - maybe all - of the free market. So really, we're not having an argument about "Free market vs total centralized system", it's "how much

I really like learning about Soviet perspectives. Often it provides a fascinating counterpoint and alternative ways of approaching a problem. So much work was done, but it is, of course, all in Russian originally.

It's not wrong, but it's backwards looking. They aren't addressing the root problem, which is "internet cameras everywhere", and the answer is to figure out how to work with that reality, not to turn the clock bac

Intention is a component of the law. Youtube-dlc apparently intended to assist in infringing the copyright. We're still fighting over the color of bits. It's all a bit technically bozo, but, sigh.

One big takeaway here from this is that you can compete on inventory. Keep the high-volume items that are popular, but also sell, e.g., masks, sanitizer, other knickknacks that are relatively disposable and are good impulse buys.
