Maybe "ruby can't handle this" was a short form for "we can't run this in the Rails controller because the response would take too long" possibly calling 3rd party APIs, "and we would run out of threads.&q

Nice app. I found a radio from the town nearby. Never heard about it. I even like the music they are playing. On the bad side, this is an app which is very difficult to use with uMatrix because it loads JS from the domain of the selected ra

Light is always light and has always the same speed but its path in a gas is less straightforward than in a vacuum because of the interactions with atoms. It takes longer to get through. Its speed as we can measure it is c divided by the re

People instinctively or factually know that there are other apps that do basically the same thing for free. It's the case for messaging apps and for almost any other kind of app. It's hard to beat the price point of a free app, ev

This is the story from the point of view of a user: One day the app asked me to pay. It was less than 1 Euro per year, I think. I never associated a credit card to the app store (Android) so I did not pay and waited to see what would happen

I'd agree with you if I'd setup my solar panels. But if I'd ever install solar at home I'd hire a company to do all the setup. I believe that it would fulfill industry standards.

You are right. I also read other comments pointing at that. Nevertheless it's often debatable what's maintenance and what's a new feature. Hopefully nobody is looking at it in too much detail. Example: a one line change to ig
