Clearly there are differences, but many of the same conditions apply, such as low pressure on the bones, so that it can still be useful in /most/ studies related to microgravity. It's a little like using an animal to test medicine -- there

I've lost count of the times my wife has said: "I never said that..." And I thought, "Damn, I wish I had recorded that conversation... if only there was a device..."

Hey, I completely understand. The site is great, and I've used it to demonstrate this point to unenlightened coworkers... but I was expecting actual news about this ancient and hallowed site, not just a repost 8)

I want to echo the other reply -- I've discovered in my life that whenever there is something wrong with a system, it's never a cabal deliberately undermining it. It's always some perverse incentive for a group to act badly. Look for the un

Here's a counter point, though. For readability, you should make your text blocks around 33em wide, which is about 66 characters. If you lose the side bar, you have to choose between really long lines, which suck, or multiple columns which

Neat fix, but wow, what acrobatics to do something that should be simple. Tsk, tsk C#.

This system won't work for high achievers. It just can't -- the goals are too far apart, the incentives too perverse. I eventually got tired of waiting for a miracle, now I educate my own children... but even that's not a real systematic so

That's not really a good thing... I hope the icon isn't widely used.

I'm okay with pretty much everything he wrote except: "An adopted baby is not the biological offspring of her mother." What does that mean? The kid is the offspring of the biological mother, obviously. I don't get it?

Dismissing Everitt branches by saying "there is no evidence," is totally off base. There's a mountain of math that practically demands that it's true.

Stats is one of the most important subject that modern, educated humans can know. We are confronted with a deluge of data and statistical figures that most people are not in any way equipped to understand. What ends up happening is that peo

He makes logical points, but I think that his point that Spotify can't be or do everything we expect from a music player (like play in the car, he says), will make his main concern moot. He says we're giving too much control to Spotify beca

I wonder when seriously diminishing returns on investment in an office chair kicks in? Is there really a substantial difference in comfort or health compared to the Aeron or even the Mirra?

2 grand is chump change. If you learn something valuable there, you'll make it back in spades. Stop thinking about "cost" and start thinking about "value."

This is a really important message. Do not be a victim, everything is possible. People -- especially geeks like us-- love to feel like it's us against the world, but it's not. If you go out and kick ass, you can get what you want.
