I've been offering these kind of calculators for a while to students... but the department doesn't require a grad their homework. Is this college? What college department requires that sort of thing?

That's a engineery solution, sure, but I think it'd come out just about even if people had to purchase multiple seats for themselves, which I think is perfectly fair.

Well, I knew what I wanted my hobby project to be, and I also have a rough long term goal. So, upon reflection, I realized that I was spending 95% of my time doing shit I hated doing, or at best was ambivalent about, and I decided that was

I faced this precise dilemma. I finally just quit. It was less stressful to do what I wanted, and worry about the bills than it was to have the bills paid by not doing what I wanted.

If you're using photoshop it's really easy to automate the creation of the sheet. Dealing with the coordinates is just a matter of using the right conventions and sticking to them.

I use dreamhost VPS for around a dozen sites, and it's pretty damn good. The control panel is really useful, and there has only been one stretch of a few hours in which the server was slow because of a network problem on their end, but it's

The logical thing to do is set up a system in which the government invests in projects, and gets some kind of stake similar to equity so it can recoup some of that tax money for reinvestment (or whatever purpose).

It really depends on what you're bringing to the table. If you're a rockstar, then the programmer might be willing to take less since she knows you'll bring in massive business. If you're among the legion of "idea guys" who have never actua

This can be explained by placebo. If you expect to feel more impressive and manly in a porche, then your body will react accordingly. It's not the car, it's the idea of the car, which is mostly marketing.

I have deep inroads and personal connections into the design industry, and it recently cost me $1500 to get a preliminary, temporary identity done, not including any printing costs or anything. That's a rock bottom price for good work.

I pretty much agree with him. I've been telling my kid since they were old enough to understand me that the world is a complicated place, and to be careful, but to also live in possibility, not in fear.

That was really long, but actually quite interesting. It seems as though he could have disappeared if he hadn't been quit so sloppy. Plus, he did a few things deliberately to leave hints. So, if this were a matter of life and death instead

Maybe it's not "defective" people that post on dating sites, it's outliers who aren't likely to hook up with a random and have it work out. Maybe people with strange hobbies, beliefs, intelligence levels, whatever.

I think it's more effective to ask for a specific dollar amount. If you notice, radio pledge drives and the like mention a "suggested donation amount" constantly. That way you short circuit all kinds of over thinking people do. Ask for $100

I think the more general advice is to have multiple streams of income so you can offer deals to people who are sensitive to those deals -- that means you can discount the cover price for people who care, and discount the ad cost for other p

This is fantastic personal advice too. Think of something you're doing in your life right now, and ask yourself: would I be doing this if I had just started today? Job? Marriage? Friendships? It's worth thinking about.
