Same thing happened with Python for data science in 2023-2015. ie reinvent SQL using Python DSL.

This is a bad way to do this. There's executives with multiple c-suite roles, compensation for multi-year performance targets, founders who elect to take low salaries and company size disparities.

That's a good question, but it probably depends on the state and speed of adoption along with the diversity of cohorts? Like Beanie Babies became popular quickly, but combusted quickly. Facebook became popular quickly, and obviously st

I would say the model has changed from selling your own software explicitly to writing most of the software (glueing systems+customizations) for Client 1, and reusing most of it when Client 2 roughly asks for the same thing. What about EPAM

The expected wins of that team was 52-30. Pippen had a weak 92-93 season (WS/48 was 0.13 versus 0.194 in 93-94). The bench was improved with Longley, Kerr and Kukoc. Swap Harper for BJ and Rodman for Grant and that team was closer to t

As a company grows, its technology edge or problems often show up in the results. For instance, Google's used commodity hardware when it needed to scale search, allowing them to index more of the web, maintaining its edge, which brough

I used to work in HFT, but haven’t for five years. For core developers, there’s heavy use of C/C++ with a deep understanding of low level programming. On the trade strategy development side, it’s usually some combination of a columnar

I agree. Google has gotten a lot worse for long tail searches over the last year. My feeling is they felt pressured by major news outlets in the US to only display “trusted” sources. Now I only get company links or nytimes versus an expert

Cities and also states will be in a precarious financial situation after this. There is a danger this allows for the federal government to exert further power and control. Since history often rhymes: https://www.theatlantic.com&#

No. People would just have to vote politicians in that support more power at the state level. This has happened throughout US history. Secession is unconstitutional, and no state has a military. In fact, the US military would already be the

The federal government can order ventilators, but you need the part. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-03-24/ventilato... It can also order or overpay for the creation of a successful vaccine, but

Sure. But how does that spur a car manufacturer that's never made ventilators, yet is trying to make them, move faster? We are going to send an army general to GM and all of the sudden we are going to crank out 60,000 ventilators?

Yes, I mentioned this. I’m just saying that a large drop in revenue right now doesn’t necessary correlate with a product that people generally want or is useful.

I'm not sure I buy this. 80-90% revenue declines across many industries is unprecedented. Especially in cases where poor operations didn't impact the business. Businesses like Hilton or Disney that have operated for 100 years may

I definitely agree that this could potentially cause long-term damage. Amazon could be one bad counterfeit away from destroying its brand. Brand trust ultimately matters for consumers making a default choice of what to buy or where to shop.

That’s all true. It really depends on how stable Digital Ocean’s cash flows are as well as likelihood of how they can grow. You don’t want to have to deleverage by paying down debt vs. lowering debt to cash flow/EBITDA ratios.
