Huh, I dont know where you are, but here in the States I got my iPhone through 0% financing (amortized over 2 years) program that allows you to get a new phone every year and comes bundled with AppleCare+

Yeah...I’m with one of those banks. It’s really bad. But hey they require security questions! It’s 2019, how can this be...

Great book from one of my favourite profs at UofA. It's very focused and provides examples on how to implement what I would call classic RL algorithms, and can serve as a decent intro. Don't expect to read it and implement Deep RL

Xonsh is good, I’ve used it for a bit. I loved customizing but in the end I found the reliance on prompt toolkit unfortunate. It’s significantly slower than fish for example. Trying to hook into how search and similar stuff works is really

If you unroll an RNN (which is what is done) then you have many copies of a single Feed Forward Network. Nothing fancy. The gradient gets accumulated.

Oh, I didn't know that, thanks for the clarification. I mostly work with C++, Python and Node in my day to day, so my assumptions are biased.

I'm not exactly sure what that has to do with the throughput of TLS, especially considering that it's 99% likely that its implemented in a native library (openssl, etc).

After the asymmetric phase, TLS is pretty cheap on modern hardware. About 1500mb/s per core (at least with AES-NI). This is why all modern Macs do transparent encryption even if you didn’t explicitly turn on FDE.

While what you said is all true, its not turtles all the way down. Eventually when it comes down to the hardware level the processor will have to assert #LOCK (or whatever mechanism it uses). So arguably even atomics aren't "lock&

Actually HTTP2 upgrade isn’t done with an “Upgrade:” request, but rather with TLS protocol negotiation.

Yes but they're not maxpooling in the last dimension. They're max pooling over the sequence length [0], (the other way doesn't really make sense in this context). The output size is 1024, the hidden vector size is 512 but the

It’s not 1024 cells. The size of the hidden vector is 1024. Which is roughly an order of megabyte per cell (1024x1024 matrix). Here they have a cell per word, which is reasonable.

The Russian Revolution is certainly not a social revolution but an economic one. They went from have a dictator to having a dictator just under a slightly different economic system. They continue to have a Tsar to this day.

Yes, I believe for path-finding on 2d / 3d maps, Jump Point Search+ is the king along with Goal Bounding. But A* is still very much useful, for example certain AI engines for games use it for action planning (GOAP).
