I'm working on social software at the moment, and when I explain it to potential users, they seem to love the concept (which gives me confidence), but truthfully I don't know if will live up to expectations. I've found it be

I recall the biggest thing customers have been waiting for on Render was an S3 equivalent. Is that coming soon?

I can second Svelte and SvelteKit, despite the latter still not being at a proper 1.0 version. The developer experience was so smooth. I’ve been a fan of Vue for a while but Svelte and SvelteKit converted me almost instantly.

Hey Thomas, weren’t you running Latacora last time I checked?

Have you used a ffmpeg wrapper like ffmpeg-python for dealing with video? If so, how does it compare? I remember seeing MoviePy briefly in my research but found there wasn't a lot of documentation.

Pardon my ignorance as I'm not Irish, and don't understand the significance of that passage, but what is the hole exactly?

I was using SQLAlchemy with FastAPI and databases, but still had issues with the lack of async in SQLAlchemy, even though it's supposed to be coming in 2.0. Ended up moving to Tortoise ORM, which is an async copy of Django ORM, but th

Australia is fast adopting some of what I consider some of the less useful aspects of American culture, not to mention our political class revelling in their overt corruption and willingly opening the back-door for the rest of 5-EYES.

It was just an observation. The logo typeface and the blue are very similar to Atlassian's branding.

Seems like a potentially useful product, but the branding looks like you're already preparing for an Atlassian acquisition.

You've come to the same conclusions I have about video that I'm using for my next startup (and YC application), though we're using it for a different purpose. We floated the same name as well, so I'm glad we didn't

Sounds like the difference between agile and Agile. It helps to understand the domain when you're architecting a solution, but I didn't realise there was an extended nomenclature around it. I thought it was just a conceptual phr

There are multiple HN stories on CollapseOS; it was worth reading for the comments.

Cheers. I remember hearing SandStorm (the company) went under a couple years ago, and was curious but hadn't explored it in depth. I've been paying attention to CollapseOS as well, though it's a little more apocalyptic in n

Thanks, I'll have a look. If it appears as though it's not worth the effort to maintain my own video infra, you're the first choice.

Hey Jon! I've looked at Mux (mainly the careers page), and it's a great platform. It would be a great fit technologically, but I'm not sure that my business model (which is tentative admittedly) would cover infra costs for p

I'm in the same boat - I'm the one building it, and my focus is on the user experience, but the business model won't tolerate the amount of video on someone else's service. :( I haven't had FFMPEG nightmares yet, bu

No it isn't. I could never find an e-mail address on the site (not saying it isn't there, I just could never find it), so I just tried support@startupschool.org, as it's a common e-mail address to have.
