You didn't indicate that they were changing the environment like that. You just said "bad user input". But for them to mess with the db constraints and database in general - my response would be: this is a whole new project.

Your software is buggy. It is choking on bad input. Modify your software so that issues caused by outside systems or user input errors are loudly and clearly announced as being externally caused. Until this if your software fails, its your

I would also add that there are height restrictions on "fences" as well. At six feet, there is a setback consideration in the front in my city at least. That said at the bottom of the article: My HOA won't allow anything lik

You got the Basic Income concept wrong. If someone takes a job, they get the income from that job IN ADDITION to the Basic Income. Basic Income is paid out unconditionally - i.e. no means testing. Rich or poor, employed or unemployed: you

Yet another go-nowhere idea. Paul, et. al. apparently still haven't learned politics. The 'startup visa' will happen when Paul, et. al. : 1. realizes that access != power 2. demonstrate power by having a group of people who h

Well I am sorry for the OP. But posts like this make it clear: I will not use AirBnB. It isn't worth the cost. Even if AirBnB pays the (no doubt depreciated) cost of the damage; I don't want my prized possessions trashed. (or wors

Also I should add.... Jordan is not being silent... He spoke out on medium where the power relationship is more balanced and in a venue where his voice will be heard. He is warning others to make a different choice and to stay away.

You are missing the power relationship here: He wasn't even an Apple employee. HR was not an option.

Nope it is extremely factual. HRs job is to protect the company from stupid lawsuits and labor law violations. HR is not an employee advocate.

The key bit in the lawsuit is that Uber's business model depends on availability of drivers in a certain area. Those drivers are required to look at their cell phone while driving.

Yes. You are correct, IF those actions are part of your duties while being on call. Just like Workers Comp insurance pays out if you injure yourself driving to a colo facility as part of being on-call.

Absolutely. This is not acceptable behavior. Silence encourages other bad behavior and contributes to a toxic atmosphere. The duration of the rant makes this not a accidental slip. HR needs to be involved.
