For my current project I have to use Teams on a Mac. Priblems that I encounter daily: 1. I am invisible in conference calls, quiting and starting Teams sometimes helps. 2. Messages refuse to load. I get a notification but no message appears

We are a creature that can think we won the lottery because if we were a creature that couldn't we would not be able to think it. Also we think being human is the best because we are humans. Right between the start and the end of time

I feel you, around the same age I constantly bricked my BIOS. I forgot what motherboard it was. I had to find the same model motherboard from somebody, boot it with their BIOS, swap in when booted and use some rescue floppy to clone to BIOS

Interesting analogy about the queue and funny how language shapes ones mental model. I would have never pictured time like that.

Unrelated but this message just thought me that 'to advance' some time is to make it earlier. I always assumed the opposite because it sounds like you push it forwards in time.

The low maintainer/user ratio could be explain by the low barrier that Emacs provide to extend it in comparison to other editors like vscode. Most people I have met using vscode use it very vanilla, maybe thet use a handful of plugins

I find this article extremely short sighted. When our tools surpass us in their capabilities it does not end human value or creativity but creates a means to lift it to an even higher level.
