Just to add my anecdotal counter-point. (I don't have a blog.) I know a handful of people who normally upgrade every refresh and are flat out refusing this time. A couple (that aren't locked in by being iOS devs) have picked up ot

If you can get past the "gamer" aesthetic and you aren't interested in a 2-in-1-- the Razer Blade (and Stealth) are great build quality and specs. Razer itself has terrible (non-existent?) support-- but the products are good.

I would personally never use an IDE for any of my (non-mobile) development. No way no how. That makes things like WebStorm or whatever DOA for me personally. My best guess for your downvotes is that your comment isn't only nonsense and

RCs should IDEALLY not have breaking changes. You can dice it up any way you want, but it wasn't a final build and there were obviously some rough edges. Angular 2 is final now and they've committed to no more breaking changes unt

I don't think the idea of "planned" breaking changes every 6 months to be such a bad thing. A major release twice a year that you can upgrade to when you're good and ready. Sounds like a way to prevent having to complete

Your first foray into web development and you picked a large, unfinished (it wasn't final) framework to learn with? Then you are complaining that there were breaking changes you had to deal with? I get your beef with the ecosystem, but

Don't have a dog in the fight-- I'm using both React and Angular2 in production. I just wanted to add that create-react-app (which was built by a few guys over a weekend or something like that?) I found to be IMMENSELY more useful

When did they "affirm" that? They've said a couple times that "Java at this time is the only way to build apps," etc. They never ruled it out for the future, AFAIK. Please feel free to prove me wrong, but I would ho

I wonder if the same people would say that Atom or Visual Studio Code is a "web app."

Hello there. I love Firebase. Use it every day. The one big request I've always had was to be able to grab the client's IP address on request. Is that possible with this new Firebase and GCE integration? I have many Firebase apps.

Authentication is built-in. You can authenticate users and give them specific access with a JSON-like file that lives on the server. It actually works wonderfully.

This may or may not matter to you, but VSCode and Atom are open-source. That means a lot to me, but I understand that some people won't really care.

Takes about 5 seconds to install a theme to your liking if you don't like the default one. I happen to dig it, personally.

"both supporting actual Javascript (even JSX isn't necessary)." Oh, come on now. If JSX isn't necessary, then neither is TypeScript. Have you tried writing React components without JSX? Angular2 in ES5 is saner. I get th

I don't really play games on Android, so that's the main one I can think of. But consider all of the great games that are ported natively to Android. Several Final Fantasy games, Chrono Trigger (my personal favorite). If the keybo

I have really been digging Dart lately. This is great news, too! Can't really get bigger validation than this. Angular 2 with Dart is pretty incredible as well. It was a breath of fresh air not needing to worry about bundling/modu
