This isn’t a comp sci geek doing performance analysis. It’s a guy who wants to do stats, and then throws up 3 options and discusses tradeoffs - memory and time consumption. He got his little workflow from a few minutes to a second, and that

From what I recall (had a macbook years ago) I could put colons in filenames in the terminal, but not in finder.

The use of colon in timestamps is incompatible with several filesystems and this just drives me nuts.

You didn’t say for how long they would be in conflict. The baby might wait 39 years then buy a gun and suddenly win.

Same here - I have had issues with the other mentioned softwares but rarely with etcher. (I have had cards be seemingly broken and fail to image - I don’t think etcher was to blame. )

This can be done in some IDEs. Although it can get confusimg if you’re working in an app framework that does some sort of catch-all exception handling.

I already move code into separate lines since this is currently missing. This is great indeed. (Although that might still make sense for debugging)

If trees are planted commercially, they’re often planted «too close» since not all of them survive to «old age». This makes them much more dense than what you’ll find in untouched nature. (That’s just one aspect, see other comments etc)

The latency reduction might be worth more than the money saved on AWS, is what I’m thinking.

I take it mqtt was developed for embedded systems, microcontrollers etc to be lightweight. Can the broker also run in such and environment, or is that just the clients?

Is it freely available in a structured, machine readable «here is verse XX» format? I could ask the same for other holy texts, I guess.

Tabular data is great for many usecases, but saying that image, audio, and video analysis is not data science seems like a weird variant of gatekeeping to me.

The kubernetes feature makes this problem much worse in my experience. Do you have it disabled?

I felt like I lost RSS altogether after my macbook died, years ago - Vienna is one of the greatest macos apps out there. Or was, >5 y ago.

Are there even any great RSS readers anymore? I sure would like a nice win+linux FOSS reader with a snappy keyboard based UI. Or something.

There are many jira alternatives out there, from what I can tell. Why are they not disrupted already, if it’s such a low hanging fruit? (Honest question - I don’t have any personal preference)

As someone who has programmed in python for a decade, and no idea how to do anything right in Excel, I would beg to differ.

Others have a «router-like» reset button which you shove a paperclip into. I’ve seen it on at least one X1 yoga.

It’s a pedantic statement. Correct for the base language, but numpy supports 16, 32, 64, and maybe extended/128 bit too. It’s the kind of nonsense argument from language flamewars that has no relevancy for practical use cases. Anyway,

Pip is standard for dependency management, but that didn’t stop others from building alternatives. I don’t find there to be a lack of standard tooling. Rather, there’s too many options to choose from you might say. It’s what success looks l
