I have previously looked into ad revenue for mobile apps, and it suggests $1.00 for every 1,000 impressions. http://makingmoneywithandroid.com/2011/05/first-month-on-the... You could always price your app at 99c to begin with and see how

What _is_ good is telling that girl or guy you like what you really think about them.

This looks beautiful guys, well done. I've been looking for something like this for a while (compare to say hummingbirdstats.com which is also neat). I will need to learn Ruby.

Awesome, would love to see more of these. Perhaps this is a litmus test for my own ideas!

Don't forget the OpenSSL "bug" (using uninitialized memory) that was really on purpose, resulting in a critical flaw once changed. In that instance too, lack of commenting to explain the behavior was also at fault.

I hope moving away from GoDaddy, rather than stopping SOPA/etc, does not become the focus.

Yes. This was the tipping point (and the fact there was a guide to do it made me). Previously, I got sick of the hidden charges they had ("Business registration fee", added with each domain) that you may not notice.

I've transferred about 10 domains from GoDaddy now, thanks for the step-by-step guide.

I find myself constantly writing down ideas in a notepad/phone/document. Many of them are simple, one liners to remember the idea. Others have expanded (even on my phone) into multi-page ideas, features, things to consider. That helps me wr

If the bill passes, would people band together and try and invoke the bill on the very people that wanted it in? Like the government website, record labels, etc, on the very frivolous grounds they are trying to ignore right now to get it ap

I'd definitely like to see this happen. I agree with a proper blackout that presents the use of some/most of the site, and a detailed reason about why it is happening and who's responsible in the senate/house/etc for the bill so people know

A few other suggestions: 1) Use a payment gateway and write some billing software on your end to charge the customer's card each month 2) Manual payment processing by hand for now (yuck!) :)

I've only released one (not too successful) project so far; with another in progress. I still have my day job and realised that I need to pick my battles right now with which projects I work on. I personally need to find the right balance b

Do you have a friend or family friend that you can ask for some guidence, like who you need to hire to help guide you through the sale? I'd definitely be after some professional advice (and making sure they are on your side!). I assume you

One problem may be that if someone sends you an e-mail and gets the responder, they may decide "Oh well I don't want them to worry about it then", except the e-mail was already sent. Maybe auto responders should ask the senders to re-send t

It's common for politicians to sit on the fence, otherwise they risk alienating some of their voters. They say things like (not a quote) 'we need to balance both sides' etc even when the idea is truly stupid. Only a few politicians have som

A few red flags (I know nothing about startup acquisition myself though). 1) Time pressure to have the deal happen quickly (that's not your fault) 2) 6m vs 2m is a big difference. I would be very careful. I think asking for a fixed price (a
