I tried using that phone, but I found Kai OS to be pretty awful from a usability perspective. Maps was completely unusable - which was a large reason why I bought the phone in the first place. On top of that, the texting app is extremely la

Is "technophobic" really a bad word now? If so, I'm an outright technophobe. If you're going to break hard news to anyone (whether it be a breakup, telling someone their loved one has died, or telling someone they are dy

Anecdotally, I have seen the same thing with anti-anxiety medication. Not sure what medication it was exactly, but some folks that are close to me have had a much higher incidence of panic attacks when they abruptly stopped taking their med

Conversely, Magic Lantern is a reason for consumers to pick Canon over Nikon or some other camera brand. I imagine there are also at least some differences in the quality of sensors between high-end and lower-end DSLRs?

I haven't looked into this recently, but are 30-hour work weeks a thing now? With benefits and all? Last time I checked they were being piloted by a couple of companies, but it wasn't so commonplace that you could just go out an

This is a sustainable schedule. I have almost an identical schedule, but swap out startup with grad school work. You can do this without getting too burnt out for a while IMO. The days where you work after work are tough, though...

I read the Mirra Ginsburg translation, which I have heard is a sin because it is based on the censored text. If I could do it over (which I probably will in a couple years) I would probably read the Burgin/Tiernan O'Connor transla

This is disappointing to hear, but to anyone who is deterred by this comment from reading it in English, don't be. Even in English, the book was undoubtedly one of the best books I have ever read. There's something about it that m

If you haven't been back, I think you'd be surprised at the (weekday) reliability of the metro now. The metro is almost always terribly messed up on weekends (with single-tracking and line closings), but they make a damn good effo

Couldn't agree more. Don't like tipping an extra dollar for a coffee once in a while? Make it at home. If you can't spare $15 a week to tip service employees when you're sporting a six-figure salary, shame on you. If you

Reading is AWESOME. I am in the same boat as you - never read much as a kid, mostly read stuff on the web up until about a year and a half ago. I found a couple really cheap used bookstores near me around that time, and I have never looked
