Nit: a unit test never proves that it works. At best it can prove that it doesn't work. Otherwise, I agree.

Would it be reasonable to have fuzz testing around reasonably sized units in addition to e2e?

And link with the `-Bsymbolic` or `-Bsymbolic-functions` linker options to save on the indirection when calling public functions within the same library but across object files.

Many natural languages have grouping at every three digits in a decimal number, but it's not universal. Like in English 10000 is ten thousand, there is no new single word for it. IMO most of it is momentum and convention, there is noth

One major difference leap day is not inserted by adjusting clocks by 24*60*60 seconds into monotonic clocks. But leap seconds are handled this way in many time sources. I think the concept itself is fine, but software developers screwed up

IMO a monotonic time source should never ever adjust to leap seconds, it's just stupid. GPS time does this right, and IMO NTP time does this wrong. Operating systems that adjust the computer's hardware clock on leap seconds (all o

Except when you pass `-r` and you pass a directory in place of the filename. But maybe it should have been `-r <directory>` and still no positional file parameter. The ship has been sailed a long ago though.

What? I still use IMAP on free tier without issues. Is this only for new accounts? edit: Damn, I just read the sibling account. Kind of nervous now, I hope they won't drop this any time soon for grandfathered accounts.

1.) Functions are fine for this stuff. The compiler can be trusted for its ability to "inline" the language-level `__builtin_unreachable()` or equivalent at the relevant optimization levels. 2.) static_cast<int> is shorter,

linux namespaces/cgroup may be an implementation detail. But at a high level, each container can have a different view on system resources, and this is the critical point. Different from each other and the host system. The system resou

Where is the scary warning about macros within the document? I thought that macros are not executed by default, and you must trust the source for executing the macros. I am not trying to downplay it, it's still a privilege escalation.

std::span is new enough to not be in muscle memory of C++ programmers. Even the standard library commits a similar sin with `from_chars` and not taking a `string_view`.
