Go is advertised as a systems language but certain things like the lack of manual memory management say otherwise.

Would love to hear the answer to this as well. For the types of thing C is used for, I do not know of another language that can _practically_ be used for the same thing, while maintaining the same level of performance. Rust looks promising

Yeah, this is what I was thinking. elementaryOS seems to get the closest but still isn't ideal. I have to think about it. Thanks. I use Linux on servers, but I've always found the options lacking in some way for desktop.

Just curious, what Linux distro is everyone switching to? At this point I am seriously considering it, because this is pathetic. (I suspect I'll remain with Apple hardware for the foreseeable future, because they still have the best la

Sure, you can _send_ spoofed packets from any host, but any reputable host will drop them. Reputable hosts use uRPF or at least an ACL at their edge to drop any outbound traffic with a source address that isn't in their network. People

Firesheep is a poor comparison. It's a piece of software. The developer (or his associates) do not provide a product or service to protect against it, which would be a requirement to be considered racketeering. (Even if they were offer

Obviously such rules wouldn't automatically be in place; they'd have to explicitly be requested. And yes, it is a reasonable request to ask your upstream to add a few ACL lines.
