Vanguard has an interesting ownership structure where the funds own the Vanguard company. They're basically (but not "officially" as far as I can tell) a non-profit, and that's why their fees tend to be the lowest.

Hmm, I must be missing something here. The caption on the photo I see is "Alex Stamos, CISO, Yahoo" - nothing special there?

If you don't max out the BCP $6k, make sure you buy Visa gift cards at a grocery store to max it out. :)

LOL. Booters (that carry out DDoS attacks which are illegal in CloudFlare's own country)? No problem for CloudFlare. Trying to circumvent Chinese content restrictions? Nope, that's unauthorized!

We do have a very strong law, the TCPA, that prohibits robocalls to cell phones without prior consent, with a private right of action and a $500-$1,500 _per violation_ (per call at least) penalty. It won't do you much good against scam

No, CloudFlare intentionally lets this happen. They won't terminate a site's service for "merely" selling DDoS services. See https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=7967615 for some old discussion on this,

Hmm, I may have misunderstood. When you say "without compensation," do you mean they're still getting their normal hourly wage but without any additional compensation (overtime) for working the extra hours? Or $0 compensation

Thanks. I just tried it but unfortunately it's not any better than the others - even over LAN at 1280x720 with "optimize for speed" enabled, it's still not anywhere near usable. (I also verified, with a packet capture, t

This is kind of unclear, but are you saying T-Mobile's model is equivalent to the traditional carrier subsidy model? It really isn't, precisely because of the separation you mention - you can choose not to buy a new phone and you

Every dollar is effectively taxed an infinite number of times; I don't understand why corporation/shareholder double taxation is a special case. A 0% corporate income tax rate would just allow unlimited tax deferment.

Here's part of Wikipedia's description of the case you cited: > By 1916, the Ford Motor Company had accumulated a capital surplus of $60 million. The price of the Model T, Ford's mainstay product, had been successively cut

I hope there's a future feature to disable pairing records and require the phone to be unlocked every time it is connected to a computer (before it can be synced). I find that I rarely need to sync with a computer, so I would not be bo

Not necessarily terrible for cardholders, in competitive markets. Comcast won't lower their rates to account for the lower credit card fees but all the grocery store chains probably will, since they have to compete with each other. I&#

I want to go into this in more detail. The skills learned in a business administration program, in themselves, are useless for actually creating a product or service to sell or practicing some field (e.g. law, medicine, etc.). The skills ta

I'm aware, such a stance is definitely on the very opposite end of the simplicity of a total market fund. Even choosing some sector funds is difficult. REITs for example would seem to be an easy one in my opinion (I see nothing wrong w
