Yeah the state of x86 books is very poor. The book that I recommend is the only x86 book that makes any sense. If anyone knows any great x86, or actually great assembly books, let me know. I'd love to find another great book on this to

Yes, we have. The entire Javascript ecosystem is a huge catastrophe. It will collapse any time soon. It's complex, fragmented and no one really likes it. There are a dozen different tools to get started. No one even understands how to

Ok, I've had enough. I'm making a prediction that the entire JavaScript ecosystem will collapse. This just doesn't make any sense. None of this is nice. It's all ugly and complicated. There's no beauty to these tool

What kind of a system is surname.pdf, New-Pub_New2new.pdf, USENIX_.PDF, and Paper.pdf. I like to say: Show me how you organize your files, and I'll tell you how good of a computer user you are.

One lesson academics should learn: pdf-naming-skills.pdf. I've been collecting interesting scientific papers and publications since early 2000 (I've a collection of 10,000 or so) and I've not yet seen a single academic, not e

You did the right thing. Software should be built using fundamental tools and not frameworks and libraries that are here for the next two years. Make is never going away, it's so fundamental that we'll be using it in 20 years.

This is yet another reason to avoid using frameworks you don't really need. Just because someone uses React, and there's buzz around this framework, doesn't mean you've to use it. Talking from my experience frameworks ar

You're not too old. The new frameworks just don't make much sense. You don't need any of them to write applications. They just bloat everything, create additional dependencies and don't help you much. You spend all your

Don't let the peer pressure get you down. Stick to jQuery. Like you said, you can get anything done with it very quickly. You don't need any of these massive frameworks to build web applications.
