Just remember, coming out with a V2 that has no upgrade path, while still supporting and improving V1 and V2 doesn't count. ;)

Exactly. It's more of a problem of it's community. I don't mean offense, but JavaScript is just so accessible and easy to get into, that's it's flooded with people who haven't had time to learn the instincts th

Darch does this as well: https://godarch.com/ However, you can use Ubuntu/Debian/Void as well. Here are my personal recipes: https://github.com/pauldotknopf/darch-recipes PS: I'm the aut

The "building" feature of Docker is very much applicable to VMs/bare metal. There spirit of this feature is just "building a root fs". There is no concept of "containers" or "vms".

To keep my system clean, I use Darch. https://godarch.com/ Every boot is a fresh install. Any one-off only becomes persisted unless I add it to my recipes. https://github.com/pauldotknopf/darch-recipes

Idk, but Microsoft cites these differences for the performance improvement. Maybe things can be speed up/cached when you are one-to-mapping the syscalls to NT kernel.

Translating syscalls to the NT kernel is slower than running Linux with a virtual filesystem.

I would rather stand on the shoulder of giants and use Qt. You can use .NET Core with Qt/QML. https://github.com/qmlnet/qmlnet

Hardly. They are achieving this by bringing Mono more "in-the-fold", making it interchangeable with CoreCLR, and ensuring CoreFX runs on every runtime. It seems that are leaning on Mono because of it's AOT abilities, which do

I look at this ".NET 5" thing as a PR move to end full framework. "We aren't ending full framework, we have .NET 5!" If you are developing new apps in full framework, you are doing it wrong.
