Mine isn’t particularly advanced or cool but I built this little directory of kaomojis (text-based emoji) with a cat mascot while I was in San Francisco for an interview at Flickr (this was a long time ago). At the time I was a junior desig

I use bing in my app for image search, anyone have some alternatives they’d recommend? (I tried unsplash but their dev approval process just never worked for me and I couldn’t get to a human)

I agree but I also wonder how much of this is a failing or ceiling of capitalism? Where things can never be complete or perfected, where we have to invent new problems to sell new crap?

Hi creator of kinopio here, I tried Evryca out and I like what you’re making, and I think your roadmap makes sense - keep up the great work :)

Released an update that only fades out the header/footer when pinch zooming, so it stays visible when swipe scrolling. Also while fading during a slow pinch, it will no longer fade back in until after your fingers have left the screen.

i would like to have the header/footer fixed in position but safari ios doesn't accurately send position information during swipe scrolling that would let me keep it fixed without jittering. (Because the app is designed to be pinc

it's hard to tell whether the animations are functioning as designed for you, it's possible they're bugging out/skipping frames on your device. If you're able to email me a screencast (hi@kinopio.club, or post on th

Ahh that makes sense, android has some known issues that I want to resolve this month so I’ll add these to the list - thanks! (tracking in https://club.kinopio.club/t/bugs-on-android/346/13 )

The header and footer, including the logo hide on mobile during scroll because mobile safari doesn’t send enough info to position them accurately during flicks. Are you seeing flickering on iOS or android?

Ah ic, are they jittery in the sense that they’re skipping/dropping frames or moving unexpectedly fast?

Are you referring to focusing/blurring on a textarea/input? (Eg when clicking a card and then it’s text?)

This post is by Jeff Johnson. I submitted it to hn because I thought it was a really nuanced take, and because I thought his conclusion that not all programming languages need to be for all skill levels makes a lot of sense

It’s mainly for dev rebuild performance. I also use vite and it’s a pretty nice build tool that’s relatively easy to configure and quite fast. It might also affect your production build times, but prod builds are far less frequent and perf

A counter example from societies and software that seems to grow and scale well are biological systems like tissues. Maybe we could design better software and better teams using patterns from biology instead of the romans of old.
