This is a very well maintained and mature open source project. But allow me to say that I absolutely loathe Code::Blocks. I am still at university and they make us use this for C++ editing. I have made it a point to not use it and instead h

I was working on something similar, but I'd like to point out that Daniel Higginbotham released http://jobsearchsanity.com as well.

Thank you for sharing. Anecdotes like this is why I love visiting HN. They also help me humanize some of my CS heroes. FWIW, I'd also love to see the autographs.

I wanted the same, ie speed with ease of templating, so I made Griffin[1] which uses handlebars templates and can parse 5000 markdown pages in ~8 seconds on my machine. [1] https://github.com/pawandubey/griffin

Ah, Haskell. I find it equal parts fascinating and scary. I definitely won't start at Haskell, although I would surely want to come to it at some point of time. Static typing looks nice.

Thanks for compiling such a great resource. I have had a look at it, and will go through it this weekend. I have also been doing some 4clojure in my spare time. Although Brave and True looks like a great book, its not for me. I would love a

Clojure. I think I should stop thinking and really learn that language now. It seems very tempting as a first functional language.

FWIW, this was my biggest gripe with it too. I did not start using WhatsApp till 2014 while all of my friends had already switched a couple of years back. I was happy with Facebook messenger, but i was forced to switch to be in the loop. Al

There's not much wrong with being the product as long as you are aware of that distinction. The problem arises when people aren't aware because this in essence takes away their right(option, if you will) to refuse to use the servi

Bitbucket allows only 5 contributors for free private repos. Gitlab allows unlimited. That is the major point of distinction, imo. Especially for medium sized projects.

The easiest way to do that would be to change your theme to some video blog wordpress theme, I am sure there are many good free ones available.

Jack White isn't a great singer, but he might just be one of the 5 greatest guitarists alive today. I'd argue he is the best guitarist alive. As I read somewhere, Jack White is in his own personal genre.

How does mobile penetration relate to the type of devices the people are using? India has almost 80% mobile penetration, but less than half of that is using smart/multimedia enabled phones. I'd estimate that Egypt's condition

This is an honest question. In what areas of the industry does C++ dominate the language landscape except hardware drives? I used to think this was true for games but I've seen most studios move to C# as the community has matured aroun

That's incorrect. People in India already have access to pretty cheap internet. A one day ~50MB GPRS pack costs $0.1 and can be voluntarily renewed daily. That's ₹10. And for the extremely poor(who are being targeted by Facebook)
