   Not sure about that, I have seen hiring frozen, as smaller teams can deliver more, and most of the tasks one could give juniors like cleaning up code, documentation, unit tests, and co, are now basically automated.

    Yeah, but that isn't what I am talking about. The whole point is the implicit bug, when the field is added and initialisation code rewritten to take advantage of this feature, without the developer realising the clash in first place.

    To add to it, I always kept the manuals around, because remembering the key press sequences was akin to doing combos in arcade fighting games. A few months without doing them, and it was hopeless trying to remember how to do them again.
