Great read! And thanks to the author for all the candor. The business case always seemed clear to me and now reading this, I wonder if there is a case to be made for an engineer and a trucking operations veteran to build a business that req

I wonder if it would be helpful for YC to set up a chat room/discord (twitch?) like environment for non-anonymous founders and investors to hang out during an "online" only demo day? It won't "completely" captu

Yea, so how are the unit costs working out? Why is delivery so costly AND they are losing money? How costly is delivery supposed to be for a company to be profitable (assuming NYC level density).

I use Peloton Digital/Freeletics type apps where they tell you how to work out properly and build workout regimes for you but...on the phone. I'd love to have it overlayed over the corner of my eye while I'm working out.

Another choice quote: "I've had 10 cancers in the last few years and it hasn't been very bad. They just appear and grow. If you go to a good oncologist nearby, they'll take it out. It's just unfortunate for people w

Coming from one of these countries to America, the answer seems obvious. STEM jobs have a HUGE differential in stability and status in those countries, so women put up up with much more patriarchal BS at the workplace to hold on to them.

This is pretty neat! As this is an offshoot of some autonomous car project, what would the support be for 3D data. If I wanted to see some LIDAR or Pointcloud data in browser? Esp if its a tf-output.

Who’s actually doing this? In a way that is actually documented? Most evidence I’ve seen of this happening has been hearsay. Note: Trying to make the applicant pool more diverse is not the same as hiring someone solely because of diversity.

Amazon is massively invested in North. Pretty sure they are working on expanding the same market instead of competing (and then combining efforts).

"turtles all the way down in Swift," This might be a little outdated but isn't everything (incl Python) a wrapper around C++ calls in TF?

Random free idea: Grab image frames from the drivers' Phone camera and use that to figure out if the road exists where OSM doesn't have one. Supplement your own Kalman Filter and update your maps!

How 'proactive' is it? My biggest problem with budgeting is thinking about my budget before I spend the money. I'm guessing that'll become more apparent with the mobile app, so just before I spend, I can check it. Howe

Tech isn’t a constant pie. For Atlanta to grow, SF doesn’t need an exodus. In fact, the destruction of SF’s tech scene will be a giant blow to North America’s tech sector for a generation. The forced de-agglomeration of tech cities is not a
