This always seems weird to me, engineers should be product managers. I’ve worked on teams where this isn’t the case and it generally results in a shittier product, and teams which this was the case resulted in success.

You do care about the 2.5 MB if memory is a concern and are limited by process where there is a very concrete threshold :) Try fitting GIFs, Videos, images + spellchecker & autocorrection into that process

To be fair even Norvig’s implementation wasn’t great for a mobile device. It can be improved with a more efficient trie structure…

I’d love to see this attitude in a fintech application. You will lose your users very quickly and not to mention potential fines from the SEC or <insert_other_regulatory_body>

Yea I lol’d hard, it’s like some great massive achievement and then you go work at Google and Apple and realize there’s actual systems engineering under the hood (kernel, process scheduling, daemons, etc.)

This has been my exact experience, I went and got results and I was told my levels are normal (somewhere in the range of low 350s and 400). This is not normal, I have ED issues and depression and I think it is directly correlated to my horm

Well here’s a solution to a problem that didn’t really need any solving. How about spending time on: • Actors • Real Immutable Structs ? This is going to create more code unreadable, while it may be cool and clever to put a pipe in and call

I just wonder sometimes what mega structures our solar system is traversing through. We rotate around the galaxy in a sine like fashion surely we run into mega structures or objects that might affect us?

The more I think about it the more it seems like the code itself should be the diagram. Not the code you write FOR the diagram, but the code for the feature, product, team you work on. Here’s an example just off the top of my head: Feature1

I understand this “looks cleaner” but we should really understand what the transpiler or compiler is doing behind the scenes. Functional code like this might introduce bottlenecks in performance. In some languages the imperative for loop is

I’m sorry what?? Native code gives you access to libdispatch and concurrency. RN is single threaded. There are a myriad of processes, shared memory, optimizations, and daemons that run on your phone that coordinate better with native binari

I’d be curious to know how one actually implements infinite canvas? I guess would you: 1. Initially set a default window size and scale the window to that? 2. Track if the user is zooming in and out and based on the zoom factor scale all th
