Right. This way, you aren’t approximating the circle. And if you were, the area would converge to the right number. Areas are good this way, unlike lengths which is what the post is about.

I use Tablet PD with Windows Journal. In addition to what you say, other advantages over chalk are the brightness, the colors, and the ability to instantly post the lecture online. Later I transcribe the lectures into text and just copy the

Well, the site runs on MediaWiki, so you can save the printable version of each article. Even if you print the whole thing, the end result wouldn't be that much different from a bunch of video files for each 15-min lecture.

I'd suggest trying to use computer vision, exclusively. It seems to me that removing the person (and the display) and not recording images would help dealing with the legal and moral problems.
