If "teng" is "thing" then "sleng" has to be "sling"? Sling thing? This [1] gives the definition as marijuana cigarette , so semantically it checks out. [1] http://wiwords.com/word

It does seem like a privilege escalation in the reverse direction, allowing banks to escalate a decision about security into one about devices. They should not have that power, and it's far from the only solution.

Who gets to decide what changes are kosher? Sounds like bureaucratic behavior modeling.

Today's stack is way too complex, and fragile. The entire stack relies on the goodwill of other projects to continue to be maintained/not have breaking changes. Even with the initial setup cost s(h)aved there will be a continuous

All you're doing is offloading the response to a piece of network hardware. It seems like what you're looking for is a technological solution for load management which you're forsaking in favor of a kludge, then blaming the u

Why does it need any investigation of motivation? If you can block then you can as well implement backing-off logic on the server's side and serve all traffic. One of the other comments is right. There is some sort of discrimination on

As the top parent says, it should not go to any special group, neither victims nor transit, as anything like that sets up perverse incentives. All fines should be revenue neutral, because the only thing they should accomplish is to be a dis

Right, there are physical limitations to how physical states can be altered (density, speed, energy) with enough persistence against entropic decay. Persistence is an abstraction to push the renewal burden onto backup maintainers. I'd

That's not putting compute into hardware (i.e. for the first time), that's just building custom application-specific hardware, which happens all the time. You used to have the floating point unit outside the CPU.

Places put local service fee pass-throughs (e.g. for local pay regulations), and still expect you to tip, which is a form of double tipping. Also these states already require employers to pay tipped employees full state minimum wage before
