Recently a number of dotnet projects have gone commercial. It feels like a rug pull. I guess it is damaging for other open source dot net libraries because developers are less likely to adopt them, ie it becomes harder to get traction.

This is the complete opposite for me! I really like a blank page, the thought of writing a prompt destroys my motivation as does reviewing the code that an LLM produces. As an aside, I'm seeing more an more crap in PRs. Nonsensical use

I agree with all this. I'm on Firefox android, pixel, lose part of the screen too. I'd love to read a table of contents. I don't want to rip you off with zero dollars! Anyway, sounds like a great book. Congratulations on comp

Can I host obsidian myself? I would like to use it for work, but I don't want to expose my employer to potential data leak. I'm thinking, host it locally and just let one drive act as back up for the mark down files it produces?

Calpol in the UK, paracetamol for children in liquid form (which is British name for acetaminophen) works wonders for kids with a fever. I'm not exaggerating when I say that every doctor I've seen with my kids has said not to with

I think this is happening with games, especially in the non triple A category. It is way easier to make games but the value of each game feels way lower to me now. This is multiplied by the fact that I can play thousands of games for free v

Automatic blaming of a driver is a horrific idea. Immediately unintended consequences spring to mind, cyclists purposely cycling into cars to get an insurance claim for one. This might sound far fetched but my friends in the UK police deal

Used far too much of it from 18 years old to as about 30 years old. I think it has played havoc with my short term memory. It has certainly made my work much more difficult. If I could change anything in my past it would be this. I'm p

Bill Gates goes into this in his autobiography, source code. Paints a very positive picture of him.

I finished GTA 3 on the PS2. I tried playing the later ones, but I always gave up, it was just more and more of the same. It also just started to take itself more and more seriously which wasn't much fun.

I think the same is happening with video games. Especially with Xbox game pass or whatever it's called. I've done it to myself with roms. Everything available so none of it valuable to me.

Why would anyone be "loyal" to a company? What does that even mean? It makes about as much sense as expecting shareholders to be loyal to the companies they hold stock in.

More bafflement: is this refering to the programming decorator pattern or something else? I.e. the one everyone learns about when they learn patterns for the first time?? No idea why they would be related to closures
