Why is this a problem? Typical HN downvoting because of “muh vendor lockin” without giving an answer as to why exactly this matters for the general population. It is a fantastic business model.

Very good. Able to absorb information so much quicker than people their senior. Also incredibly eager to learn and please.

I got downvoted for saying something similar for standing up a web app from scratch and getting it deployed securely. You are absolutely correct

What on earth does that drivel even say. Did you generate this from a heavily quantised gpt2?

I scariest part of this which I do not see people worried about, is the one sentence about requiring suspects to open their phones at the border for inspection.

Side note: what are people’s opinions of the UK regarding AI now? Completely insignificant? I feel the UK has taken a nosedive over at least the past 30 years.

You sound like the sort of person of old who “Why would you use the internet. Look in an encyclopaedia. ‘Google it’ is just lazy” This trope is unbecoming of anyone sensible.

Thanks for your insight. I got ratioed to fuck for trying to defend the standpoint that this is an unusual expectation of a regular engineer to stand this up correctly. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42873134

HN is a bubble. The expectation that your colleagues are /experts like you/ is unrealistic. To stand something up like this, which is entirely on bare metal - this is a task many would find challenging if they are entirely honest

I don’t understand this comment? Is it unusual to request something like this? OP’s comment was saying that all 1000 or so (and hundreds of thousands of others) of his colleagues would be able to do this if asked? I don’t know if you are in

No. I don’t think so. I think if you took many engineers and sat them at a computer and asked them to stand up a whole dev staging prod system they wouldn’t be able to do it. I certainly would not, or it would take me a significant amount o

Exactly this. OP, credit where credit is due, appears to be someone who “hacks things together” copy pasting solutions blindly from the internet - with little intuition gained along the way.
