LOIC is complete junk. It's just a crappy TCP/UDP/HTTP attack tool. They are only strong because of the sheer number of them. A handful of people using a quality tool like Rsnake's "slowloris" ( http://ha.ckers.org/slowloris/ ) could do muc

Here's a little trick if you're going to use em: BODY {font-size:62.5%} That makes 1em equal 12px, so 2em is 24px, 1.5em is 18px, etc. You'll need to do this to get consistency across all browsers. Otherwise 1.1em could be 20px for me but 1

I don't have any respect for people that use Windows-based attack tools, not that I respected 4chan anyways. Windows limits parallel connections, making it pretty much useless for "packeting". 4chan is full of a bunch of 12 year old script

I giggled a little bit when I saw the 6px numbering down the right side. Most people have trouble with anything below 11px or 12px, so to cut that in half is pretty funny. If you don't want the numbering, just remove it, otherwise it needs

You really didn't give us enough information to help you with this decision. Without knowing which each of those companies are, we won't be of much help. We couldn't even take an educated guess. You seem to be leaning towards 2, no interest

I very much agree with you. Additionally, I enjoy being in control and not having to deal with typical big corporation bullshit. I could never go back to working for someone else. I love being able to bring my ideas to life and seeing how i

I took your comment a little bit out of context to make a point - that just because something is free, doesn't mean everyone will use it. To expand a little bit further, sometimes people see value in expensive stuff just because it has a hi

You can't use a "random" salt (such as one generated from the rand function) because then you can't calculate the hash later to verify they entered the correct password, unless of course you store that "random" salt in the database, which w

Most people just split it evenly, even if your burger cost more or whatever the situation. This is the norm in Boston, not sure about other places.

In my opinion, Chrometa isn't at a point where it can claim it has traction. It sounds like they have 100 or so customers after 2 years. There are ~1.2M lawyers in the US and ~1.8M in the world.

They have to defend their trademark, or lose it. There's no way you can keep that domain. I don't think this falls under fair use either. E-mail their lawyer, Laurence Wilson at lwilson@yelp.com.

All the good domains are taken by squatters and bootstrapped start-ups can't afford the good ones, so we get creative.

You probably missed the boat with this one. Google has been making it harder to rank with these kinds of sites. Sites like these are considered spam. Create something of value, it's the only way!

I wouldn't worry about it. Traffic sniffing is mostly a concern for computers connected to public wireless networks. A linux machine, in a datacenter, connected via an ethernet cable doesn't have much to worry about.

No one is going to get excited over an idea. Let's see a prototype, a powerpoint presentation, a fancy user-interface, investor commitments, press traction, etc. We can see clearly what you don't have. Now what do you have? Do you have anyt
