That report is better than most but it relies on the assumptions that 1) the grid can route power nearly instantaneously from LA to NYC with very low losses and 2) on cuts in per person energy use by 30-50% (primarily by switching to electr

The biggest argument against it is that it is incredibly regressive. Poor people generally spend higher percentages of their income on stuff where rich people save higher percentages of their incomes. So for example, Joe makes 51k/year

Pretty obviously, not all time is equal in the eyes of the company that owns the software. That month of dev time costs on the order of $10k-20k all it where the users time is free from their perspective.

TL;DR: in 2016 Symantec issued unauthorized certs for example.com (owned by ICANN) and a multi-domain cert with SANs for test1.com, test2.com, test3.com... even though those domains are each owned by very different organizations and did not

The article you pasted says that Trump insults lots of people with the same physical movements thus we shouldn't condemn him for mocking a disabled person. Can we condemn him for being crass then?

This is exactly what I was referencing, in the wikipedia page you can see a 1904 olympic competition where the anchor man has safely wrapped the rope partially around his waist: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tug_of_war#

Random bit of information cluttering my brain. When playing tug of war, hold the rope with your thumbs pointed towards yourself. A trained professional can usually pull about 0.8-1.0x their body weight that way vs. about .5-.7x with thumbs

Around 10 years ago I would sometimes see higher framerates in games like HL2 but I'm pretty sure it was b/c I was running Gentoo and had all the cruft removed and had custom compiled everything for my hardware.

This seems like a bad example. There is no money at all for them to make an API and it wouldn't get more people coming to craigslist.com. At the same time it would require additional server resources. So why bother?

I have seen no proof that users are willing to pay to improve craigslist. I like it just the way it is. It's like a unix tool, it does one thing and does it really well. If you wanted it prettier, you could make a browser extension to

Glen Canyon was slightly different because there was no "emergency spillway" in the same way that Oroville has. Glen Canyon simply had 2 giant spillways that both needed to be in use but were both getting torn apart by cavitation.

Generally sink holes like what is affecting the spillway are caused by rain and flooding. So I'd say it is likely that the inspections all came up clear for the past X years, then the rain started, the sinkhole formed and the reservoir
