My main two attempts at using an “agentic” coding workflow were trying to incorporate an Outlook COM interface into my rust code base and to streamline an existing abstract windows API interaction to avoid copying memory a couple of times.

Fine, but TFA suggests that even -Wunused is too impractical. Taking that at face value, it's not clear how "Hey use this thing that has an even higher latency and lower signal-to-noise ratio" is a solution.

No way is it practical to run complex code like this through a sycophantic parrot. Try it again with some old, well known code and see how many “Certainly! Your error is …” you get.

No, the parent was referring to how someone “was treated”, and it would have been perfectly valid to reference that case to make the same point. What you’re saying is like calling Al Capone a tax cheat. Nonsense. They went after Aaron over

Okay, those are good points, but I don't think the statement is meaningless. China, as I think most understand, deliberately pumped RMB into the market in a manner that made its resources available to foreign markets by trading a capit

Just saw this - it's actually pretty custom. I use the text edit and label components extensively, but generally the bulk of the work is somewhat custom (i.e., the text layout). The font framework is super handy for getting going with

So cool! I assumed that pilots just generally flew the same hops back and forth over and over, but it seems at first glance that there is actually a lot of variety. Does it make you nervous when you have to land in a new place for the first

Hmm. It seems to me that one of the features of an immediate mode library is that if you don't call something, you won't suffer overhead consequences. If you aren't trying to align things in a manner that triggers the two-pas

Both approaches have their downsides and, in my view, retained mode and immediate mode tend to converge as the UI complexity increases. So far, no problems with implementing any UI I want in my experience with egui on a somewhat complicated

Yes that battle is won by getting the IT/infosec team's approval for the desktop application. Lawyers really don't like the WASM version because it seems like you're uploading docs to some server (you aren't). Thank

Yeah, that's true - they really don't. But it helps with the DDQs when you can tell their Infosec people that it's a typesafe language. In the end it's another bullet point but not much more. It's great to be able t

I'm not sure I agree it's "very performant", but nonetheless I do love it. (Compare it to Zed, for example.) In any event, VS code is only required to render text in a single font, with very few layout concerns, styling,

That's a fair take at surface level, but building a cross-platform application does allow for a broader class of contributors who can also dogfood the product. I'll have to do another write-up about it sometime, but a lot of Triti
