It's nice how you released it for a lot of different platforms. Would you mind sharing the % of sales / platform once you have some sales?

They have just a few apps (lilke iMapsPro) but sell different versions for different regions. I guess that's just a limitation on the App store, as they can't sell different regions within their app at the current price point ($0.99). It lo

You get a GB, which is valid for a month. If you want more, you can pay another £5. (or £2.50 for 500MB which is valid for a week)

Yes, but that only works with their supplied phones. You can still use Skype on other phones, but you'll have to pay the bandwidth cost of £5 / month for 1GB.

now you'll just need to find a provider who will actually allow you to use VoiP over 3G.

Then you just have to hope Apple won't care / notice that you're using a scripting language. So far, Apple has been reasonably lenient (there are apps running on smalltalk for instance), as long as you don't allow users to run custom code,

I think it should work with another sim and wifi only, as it also works with an iPod touch.

I wonder how they're going to check this. I'm almost tempted to test it out, and see what happens. Buying a new prepaid sim only costs £4, but changing phone numbers is a bit more of a hassle.

iLounge also posted these speed test videos: http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/news/comments/iphone-3g-s-s... They only show game loading speed, but it's still impressive. I can imagine the people using their phones for games a lot to want

I guess you might be lucky, but did you check your contract terms? Even if it's possible to tether with your phone, it's often not allowed. In the Netherlands for instance all contracts specify you're not allowed to tether your phone, even

With Apple's tools, they use a separate APN for tethering. This is like having another router (you can have another APN for MMS, for instance). All your iPhone traffic gets routed through your normal router, but the tethering traffic gets r

I hope they don't do what Apple used to do -- dump all their KHTML changes as a huge diff and call it "WebKit", but actively participate in the development of the products. See what happened with WebKit once it got a community, it's now one

Are there any iPhone game developers here that want to share how they're going to make use of the 3GS? What's your plan? Dump the older models, only use the older API's or hack something together for both?

Does it do custom branding? I might've missed this, but I don't think the video mentioned it. Gitorious does that rather nicely (see http://qt.gitorious.org/ ), but your repositories will still be hosted somewhere else.

Also think of stuff like latencies. Current USB drives add like ~5ms of latency. That's doable with normal drives (which have ~10ms access times), but is killing for SSD's (which have <0.1ms access times).

My personal favorite is: git checkout --track origin/master to create a local branch 'master' that tracks the branch 'master' on 'origin', and checks it out.

After looking at that, I can't think anything but "wow, what ugly fonts".. I know that phone isn't an iPhone, but you can still try to do some antialiasing, or something, right? Also, the information density seems pretty low (compared to th

OK, but what about sha's you get from others? Someone references a sha in an email, or on IRC, or you find a reference to something in a bug report, or a gitweb search..

Presumably this changes the hashes? Is there some tool that converts git sha's to hg sha's, so you can still do something like `hg log <some git sha someone gave you>`? I guess that sort of stuff will cause the most confusion, just

IE 6 has 60 percent of the enterprise market, with IE 7 clocking in at 39 percent; Firefox has 18.2 percent of the enterprise market; I'm not sure how they measure that share, but it's not what I expected. I'd expected the tot

I do want to add a few points to his data: 1) The average "Social Networking" price of the top 50 in the UK store is (in US tiers) $2.72, not $0.99. Similarly, the median is $1.99. Only 22 / 50 apps are priced $0.99. 2) The #1 "Social Netwo

It would be nice if you describe on the page what Evom converts _to_.. Why would anyone need this app? That's not clear from the text, a bit more clear from the screenshots. That said, I haven't tried it yet, but will try it later today.
