As someone who abused cannabis in my 20s and had my fair share of issues I can only agree.

You can still work with vanilla PHP, jQuery, and vanilla CSS if the project allows it. Things are more complex typically because the requirements are more complex. What used to be a simple <form> and a redirect now requires client-sid

Funny how the headline tries to spin this as an env vars issue. By far the biggest issue is being able to access the production environment of millions of customers from a Google Workspace. Only a handful of Vercel employees should be able

Ok but how do you go from a Google Workspace to production env vars? Doesn’t Vercel use 2FA? Did the hackers also get the env vars encryption keys?

John Ternus really did turn the Mac around. The last 5 or so years of the Intel era were a disaster. Hopefully he will be able to turn things around with software too.

How do you go from a Google Workspace to production env vars without Vercel doing something wrong?

Regarding 1, from another comment it seems NeonDB env vars are not sensitive by default. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=47832692

Surprising velocity? It appears the hackers had the oauth key for a month.

> They put a massive amount of VC cash into convincing people that Next.js was "the modern way" to create a website My impression is Next started becoming popular mostly as a reaction against create-react-app.

I don't know about Hetzner but with Upcloud and Vultr my single VPS setups have been more reliable than multiregion with redundancy setups with other providers like Fly.

Is Hetzner as reliable as DO though? Over the years I've heard plenty of horror stories from Hetzner customers.

To anyone who has been following climate change it was clear the IPCC reports were outdated by at least a decade. Back in 2013 or so feedbacks (methane etc) were already a big part of the conversation but were ignored from the IPCC reports

You have to use AWS though :) Also Cloudflare is way cheaper compared to eg Sendgrid or Postmark.

Pretty good pricing. Currently using ZeptoMail ($2.5 per 10,000 emails) but if this service by Cloudflare proves reliable once it reaches GA I'd be happy to switch.

I don’t see the option on iOS. At best I can limit to 15 mins. Wish there was a way to completely turn off shorts. Youtube was significantly better 5-10 years ago.
