Wow, so feature rich, congrats on the release. Love that the mnemonic generation takes into account your existing memory anchors (didn’t know that term). I’ve actually been working on a similar-ish Anki Plugin for about 6 months - it can au

I would suggest building something that you yourself find useful / solving a problem that you regularly face that doesn’t have a satisfactory off the shelf solution. Note that this implies spending time in a different problem domain th

That would be really cool. Unfortunately there's not much you can do on mobile with Anki extensions, so what you've described would have to be a standalone app. You could definitely wire up TTS fields with this add-on, but you

Same! There was another add-on that sort of did it, but it was broken with modern versions of Anki. Was very surprised nobody built this yet.

I’m working on an Anki Addon that streamlines the hell out of the card generation process using LLMs. You can define a schema of prompts for your note type & fields, where each prompt can reference other fields, and use it to generate t

This is great, going to try this approach with my Japanese Anki reps. Mind linking out to Katzumoto’s Anki advice? Is this this one? https://tatsumoto-ren.github.io/blog/setting-up-anki.html

Craft ( https://craft.do ) has become my goto note taking / productivity / knowledge management app. I've tried Workflowy, Roam, Obsidian, and Notion before landing here. It has a great compromise of features I like

My daily driver is VSCode with Vim editing and Emacs Spacemacs keybindings. I use a VSCode port of Emacs' Magit client for version control. I'm genuinely curious, from other folks perspectives, what I'm missing with this setu

Jeez, this strikes me as such an unnecessarily harsh and critical self analysis. The biggest issue I have with this take is that the author's distinction between moral "competence" and "incompetence", from what I&#x

Just curious - did you guys present at last year's YC hackathon? I think I remember you! (we were the social film-camera team). Congrats on the launch!

I'm also majorly turned off by this attitude. We're knowledge workers - ostensibly paid nice salaries to think deeply and find reasonable solutions to hard problems, not just to turn a crank and shit out code as fast as possible.

Correctness isn't about fun, although fun is definitely a side effect. I agree Go is easier to read if you're primarily familiar with C style imperative programming, but once you've strayed from that a bit, a PR in Typescript

Super agree. Speedy compilation time of Go was my favorite feature. TS compilation is frustratingly heavy.

I played around with Go a while ago, and while I appreciated the approach to concurrency, I was really put off by both the boilerplate + how primitive the type system felt. Not having map and filter due to lack of generics meant writing for

Sure, a fairly best in class example would probably be Notion. Switch between pages, move some elements around, etc. There's a level of interactivity and responsiveness that I just don't see with Hey.

Noteworthy how they tout the success of their "magic" frontend stack made with vanilla JS, lack of a trendy framework, etc. But if you use the app, the UX is fairly laggy, requires frequent refreshes, all the animations and intera

Can you give a concrete example of the kind of code you'd like to write that you can't write in Typescript? Types absolutely are a first class citizen in TypeScript. Especially coming from Go, which doesn't even support gener

Are you me? Maybe this is an ambivert + social anxiety thing? It is so odd. I like to be alone, but I like to know that I have a social interaction planned for later in the day, etc, so that I’m not guaranteed to be alone for the WHOLE day.
